Formed in 2009, the IIMC Alumni Association Mumbai is registered as a Trust under the Office of the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai. All alumni in Western India, including Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, etc., can become a member of the Association for a nominal lifetime fee of Rs 1,000/-.
The Association is run by a team of Trustees and a Managing Committee, all of whom performing their tasks on an honorary basis.
The Association conducts 3 annual events under its banner: Nostalgia, Clarion Call and Guru Speak. In addition, the association may hold other events during the year if and when suitable. The ManCom constitutes a working committee for each of the annual events, with a Head of Team for each event. All such heads and team members are volunteers and their work is entirely honorary.
Organised jointly with the Alumni Secretary at the campus, Nostalgia forms an informal platform for alumni across all batches to meet and interact together in a festive spirit. The last Nostalgia, held in 2019, had more than 400 alumni at the NSCI, Mumbai.
This is a start-up event where entrepreneurs meet with prospective investors under the guidance of senior alumni and members of the IIMCIP and other partners. There have been 3 editions of Clarion Call so far, and it has attracted about 150 start-up participants in each edition.
This is the flagship event conducted by the Association, in which an academician with impeccable credentials delivers a one-day workshop on a current topic of widespread interest. The academician must have established his or her reputation in conducting cutting edge research work. In recent times, the Association decided that the Guru needs to be an alumnus.
Starting in 2011, the Association has conducted 8 Guru Speaks till date, featuring such luminaries as Prof Venkat N Venkataraman, Prof Venky Shankar, Prof Suresh Ramanathan, Prof Arvind Rangaswamy, Prof Prasad Naik and Prof Sudha Ram.
